approximately 38 billion plastic water bottles end up in landfills each year. bobble is an alternative to single-serve plastic water bottles that can help you eliminate unnecessary waste. each reusable bobble comes with a replaceable carbon filter designed to make ordinary tap water taste better with every sip.
buying bottled water is also a costly habit. The UK currently spend more than £1.5 billion a year on bottled water. bobble retails for approximately £10, and every replaceable filter is equivalent to 300 single-serve plastic water bottles.
before drinking from bobble, remove the filter and fill bobble with water. replace the filter and gently squeeze 550ml of water through the filter. the water may look temporarily dark as any loose carbon is removed. the activated carbon filter requires no maintenance thereafter.
bobble uses a carbon filter, a proven, powerful chemical absorbent. as the water passes over the positively charged carbon surface of the filter, the negative ions of the contaminants are drawn to the surface of the carbon granules, where they remain. bobble's filter is effective at removing chlorine from municipal tap water, which will improve its taste. test results meet or surpass the NSF International Standard 42, the standard that governs public and private drinking water.
note: bobble is not recommended for use where water is not microbiologically safe or of unknown quality.
calcium, magnesium, potassium, and other nutrient and minerals are not reduced or affected by the filter in bobble.
we recommend changing the filter after a minimum of two months of use, or after you have filtered 150 liters through your bobble. while there isn't an obvious way to tell, once the filter is reaching the end of its lifespan you will notice that your water may not taste as fresh as it once did.
PET which is what bobble is made from, is easily recyclable. The carbon filter can be disposed of with your garden waste.
PP which is what the filter casing and mouthpiece are made from, is recyclable where facilities exist. PP plastic products are marked with the number 5 recycling code. to recycle the filter housing, crack open the top of the filter, dispose of the carbon filter in your garden waste, and recycle the PP housing via the appropriate means.
while the filter lasts for 300 uses, the bottle can be used again and again and again.
with the exception of bobble sport (body only), bobble is not dishwasher safe.
bobble and its mouthpiece/filter should be hand-washed regularly, to help limit bacteria growth. simply remove your filter/mouthpiece component from your bottle, and wash with warm soapy water. for best results, use bobble's brush to wash your bottle.
we do not currently offer bobble without a filter.
bobble is made from FDA-approved polyethylene terephthalate, or PET, that is free of BPA, phthalates and PVC.
the filter housing and mouth piece is made from polypropylene, or PP, that is free of BPA, phthalates and PVC.

no it is not made from recycled material, but it can be recycled.
no. you should hand wash your brush with warm and mild soapy water.
